In 2000 Brinsley became host to VH1's Soul Vibrations show. As presenter and VJ he scripted the shows, introducing many R&B, Hip Hop and earlyReggae videos to TV for the first time. He also went on to present BBC television magazine show Ebony. In 2002 Brinsley became a regular BBC 6 Music presenter as well as presenting BBC2's documentary 'Behind the Smile - The Real Life of Bob Marley'. He also presented the eight part documentary Island Rock to mark the 40th anniversary of Jamaica's Independence.
